Prototype and Short Run Production Machining
Azimuth CNC can help you create prototype parts with our experienced staff of project engineers and machinists. Working with your engineering staff, we can machine a functional prototype from a wide variety of materials to meet your design specifications. Our extensive experience enables us to provide suggestions on part manufacturability and cost containment.
When the prototype has been developed and approved, we can use the knowledge, fixturing and machining strategies used to make the prototype to produce your part at a very reasonable cost. We can usually save you money on complex 3D parts compared to production by other methods like casting or molding. As required, we can also supply secondary and finishing operations like anodizing, heat treating, deburring and polishing.

Prototype & Short Run Production Example
Part: Hydraulic valve manifold
Material: Aluminum billet from certified material
Dimensions: 7-1/2" x 7" x 2-3/8"
Part run: 100 - 200 pieces
In this project, we machined hydraulic components with many ports on all six sides, made from aluminum billet. These parts were run overnight unattended using the pallet changer on our Mikron Vario machine tool.
Three parts loaded onto the pallet changer, two with the first operation complete
